In honor of Pink October, NADA in Northern State carried out a heartfelt celebration to raise awareness and spread compassion within the community.
The team began the day with a visit to Wadi Halfa Hospital, where they presented symbolic gifts to the White Angels — the dedicated healthcare professionals who continually support the organization’s efforts. Gifts were also offered to a number of patients, bringing moments of comfort and encouragement.
Following the hospital visit, the team continued to the Youth House Gathering site, joining the celebration with elderly men and women in an atmosphere filled with warmth and joy. The event featured awareness sessions, interactive activities, and symbolic gifts, all aimed at fostering a sense of unity, care, and well-being.
The men’s awareness session incorporated psychological well-being and trauma release strategies, memory-sharing, and a relaxation and breathing exercise, promoting emotional balance and inner peace. Meanwhile, the women’s session featured psychological well being and trauma relief techniques, story-sharing, a traditional coffee gathering, and a joyful singing party with henna, celebrating strength, resilience, and togetherness.
Through these meaningful engagements, NADA reaffirmed its commitment to promoting health awareness, psychosocial well-being, and community solidarity across the Northern State.
As one of the strong Women Led Organizations (WLOs) in Sudan , NADA is shouldering the responsibility of enhancing the capacities of sister WLOs voluntarily for many years now, so when the opportunity presented itself to lead a consortium of WLOs under UNFPA fund and through NADA’s continuous advocacy efforts with donors, NADA stepped up and provided technical , administrative and financial support to 11 WLOs in 2024 which increased to 25 WLOs in 2025 , additionally NADA conducted several consultations with the Mutual Aid Groups (MAGs initiative) to expand the WLO coverage under the SHF to be the first NGO to lead such a consortium within the SHF globally .NADA’s main goal is to create strong , eligible and capacitated WLOs who serve as the first line of response to community needs and often overlooked on the standard funding platforms.
