A new Life of dignity and purpose

My Name is Mohanad, 38 Years old, I was born with a genetic condition that weakened my muscles over time, eventually leaving me unable to walk without assistance. I lived in Khartoum, when suddenly the armed conflict started in 15^th April 2023, my family was forced to flee to Ed dabbah- Northern State, here I was  displaced   and struggling, I found myself with no access to proper medical care or mobility aids.I relied on my family to carry me or crawled to move around. I faced immense challenges in my daily life—unable to work or to socialize, I felt dependent, hopeless and became a heavy burden on my family who was already suffering from the effects of war.

Thanks to  NADA Elazhar for Disaster Prevention and Sustainable Development (NADA) with generous funds from the SHF they provided me with a wheelchair, this simple life-changing aid gave me the freedom to move independently for the first time in over two years.A New Life of Dignity & Purpose:

Today, am:

• An advocate for disability rights in my community.
• Living Proof that disability does not mean inability.
• Mobility aids are life-changing for people with disabilities, especially in crisis situations.
• Displacement adds extra challenges, but support can rebuild lives.
• With opportunity, people with disabilities can thrive and contribute to society.

My story is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest times, support can create a brighter future.
