A sparkle is all we need

“I was invited by a member of community protection network in my area to attend awareness raising on gender violence based conducted by Nada Al-­‐Azhar Organization.My knowledge about the topic subject was very limited. We grew up in very restricted environment that look at violence as a very natural  and normal practice. Strangely, I did not feel that my husband’s violence against me was  illegal or forbidden, although it was very  painful and affect my  health and wellbeing.” I was trying to coexist with this situation to prevent my  family from fragmentation and destroy,” said Salwa.

“Through awareness raising session,I and my other attendees understood definition of violence, its symptoms and results, I noticed that all of symptoms are similar to what  happened,” She added.” Although the session was short, precise, simple  and it  was  very  informative and provided us with concrete  and effective ways to stop violence through speech, not silence through dialogue and rejection of violence” Salwa concluded.
